Course Contents

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

This qualification is available to learners aged 18 years or over. In addition, the learner will need access to a computer with a reasonable internet connection to access the distance learning resources and communicate with the Trainer/Assessor via Zoom.

 

DELIVERY

This course will be delivered via two live session wit an opportunity for some self reflection. You must be available for both sessions.

Identifying mental health conditions

Providing advice and starting a conversation

Stress

Mental health conditions

 

CERTIFICATION

An Award in Awareness for First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. The learner will need to complete the full course again to re-qualify for a further three years.

About Your Instructor

Michelle’s experience spans the voluntary, private and statutory sectors where she has supported

young people and their families since 2002. Her work has included working in schools, colleges and volunteering in charitable organisations.

Michelle delivers Mental Health training and First Aid training on a regular basis and continues to support young people as a mentor when not delivering training.

Michelle is ASIST suicide intervention trained, as well as achieving a diploma in Counselling Children and Adolescents, Mental Health Instructor qualification and First Aid Instructor qualification.

Michelle’s work around Mental Health has focused on reducing stigma, dispelling myths and empowering people to be confident to start a conversation around Mental Health when support is required.
