Amazing session!

It was lovely to get a closer look at Early Birds and Night Owls, as well as Amanda's Cheeky Rascalz. I have followed Amy since she was a childminder and I think is how I discovered the Curiosity Approach. I have also followed Amanda's setting on facebook for sometime now and take so much inspiration from them both. Thank you

As a setting we have already started the journey, and it's nice to see that the progress we have made is on the right track and already having and impact.

I have learnt so much by watching the wonderful video and reading work book 1. I agree wholeheartedly with the approach. We cannot allow children to forget how to use their imaginations and to be ever curious! Curiosity is a gift and one that us adults should treasure and remember for ourselves to be curious! There’s much more to a raindrop, an acorn and icicles on the bare winter bushes! This approach makes me think of my beloved granny’s house! She didn’t have toys but we always found great joy and treasured memories through playing with her hats, shoes, 70’s egg cup boats and her amazing collection of ornaments! It helped us to develop love, respect and care for treasured objects. Mostly, an appreciation for the simple things in life and the magic from drinking tea from a china cup! Recycling, reusing and repurposing is so important in this world right now this approach really is paving the way to educating the child in how to care for our precious world. I cannot wait to learn more and grow our wonderful home from home setting. Nurturing and teaching young minds and building trust in the most organic way! Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!

I loved seeing how other settings are adopting the curiosity approach. Our small nursery class setting has been on a journey these past few years, unfortunately we were seen as another class within our school by our SMT (yes a watered down version of school), despite staff being keen to retain our own identity as early years, and showcase our playful pedagogy. I liked how plastic wasn’t demonised but incorporated mindfully amongst the open ended natural resources. Blurring the lines between indoors and out! This made me question why we’ve never pondered doing this on a greater scale. No need for laminated rubbish in a rich environment, this was so nice to see, although I did wonder why our room is labelled within an inch of its life, who’s that for? Tomorrow I will be on my knees viewing our setting from the children’s perspective! Getting their ideas as I go. Looking forward to day 2 ladies. Thank you.

You are so inspiring and make me want to go back into work to start changing my environment at 8.30pm tonight . Now I have to be patient and wait until 7.30am tomorrow morning. Thank you .

Ideal. Not too long but enough to have an introduction and an insight with some lovely examples.

What an inspiring insight into stunning learning environments which showcase everything that I am passionate to incorporate into my own setting. I am keen to include parents in helping us to resource and develop our spaces
